The Syrian Coalition condemns the Israeli attacks on the Syrian Center for Scientific Research in Jamraya, near Damascus.
The Coalition holds the Assad regime fully responsible for the attack, by weakening the Syrian Army and exhausting its forces in a losing battle against the Syrian people; who are the sole reasonfor its existence.
It is clear that the regime, which claims to be a force of resistance, is in fact weakening Syria in the face of an enemy.
Until this point, the regime has worked at maintaining the best interests of the Assad family and securing its rule. This has lead to wasted human resources, a declining economy and weakened national spirit, all of which are bringing the nation closer to complete collapse.
The coalition is suspicious of the timing of this attack. These strikes have given the regime the necessary time to draw attention away from the crimes and massacres it is committing on the Syrian coast. It is not unlikely that, with the world's attention distractedby the recent attacks, more crimes will be committed.
We call on the Syrian people to remain steadfast to the revolution and to refuse the regime’s consistent aggression against the interests of the country and its people.
We ask the Syrian people to continue working towards our goal of ridding the country of the destruction and chaos created by the Assad family rule, which has consistently given precedence to its own interests over the interests of the nation.
The coalition deeply regrets the deafening silence and inaction of the international community in the face of such grievous violations of international law, continued by the Assad regime and taken advantage of by Israel in order to fulfill clear objectives.
We urge the UN Security Council, with the support of the international community, to fulfill their duties in saving the Syrian people in this time of crisis, and we repeat our call for them to do whatever is necessary to save the Syrian people.
We ask for mercy for our martyrs, health for our wounded and freedom for our prisoners.
