Leader of the Nusra Front terrorist group Abou Mohamad al-Jolani has been critically injured in a Russian airstrike on one of the group's bases in Idleb province, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
In a statement on Wednesday, ministry spokesperson Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov said that the Russian air force targeted on Tuesday a meeting of Nusra Front leaders, killing 60 terrorists including 12 field commanders.
“As a result of the strike, [Nusra Front] leader Abou Mohamad al-Jolani received multiple heavy fragmentation wounds and, having lost his hand, is in critical condition, in addition to the injury of nine others,” Konashenkov said.
