Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and the U.N. envoy to Syria Lakhdar Ibrahimi have reiterated their joint support for dialogue between the different parties in Syria, without preconditions, in order to end violence and resolve the crisis in the country.
In a statement on Monday, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Lavrov and Brahimi discussed the prospects of convening the international conference on Syria and exchanged views regarding a political and diplomatic settlement in Syria, during a phone call on Monday
Both parties stressed that dialogue on equal footing between all sides in Syria without any preconditions is then only way to violence in Syria, which would lead into detailed discussions of the country's future.
