Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin is waiting for America and Europe to condemn a series of air strikes carried out by Belgian aircrafts from the US-led international coalition Tuesday night on Hassadjek village in the Aleppo countryside, which killed six people and injured others.
Peskov told journalists on Wednesday that Moscow is waiting for a suitable response from the coalition and from all international organizations which voiced concern about Russian air strikes on civilians in Aleppo.
In the same context, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that if no condemnation of the Belgian crime is issued then the act will be considered an attempt to assist and bolster terrorists in Syria.
Zakharova also stressed that it is unacceptable to accept the humanitarian pause announced by Russia in Aleppo for other purposes, stressing that previous propaganda regarding Aleppo was never about concerns for civilians in the city but protecting Nusra Front and preventing the Russian air forces from eliminating terrorists in Aleppo.
She also said that the issue of separating the so-called “moderate opposition” from terrorists in Aleppo should begin immediately, adding that the cessation of operations by Russian and Syrian air forces is linked to promises made by the US to distinguish between armed groups.
In response to UN claims about obstacles hindering the delivery of humanitarian aid to Aleppo, Zakharova said that Moscow does not understand why UN representatives cannot deliver aid after the Russian and Syrian air forces halted air strikes in the city.
