ISIS Health Dept. Emir Defects in Deir-ez-Zor Countryside

The emir of the health department for the Islamic State group in the town of Albu Kamal, eastern Deir-ez-Zor countryside, has fled ISIS-controlled areas for an unknown destination.

ISIS meanwhile executed five men from the Al-Tareef village in the western Deir-ez-Zor countryside.

Media activist Samer al-Khalaf said that “members of the group carried out death sentences against five young men from the village of Al-Tareef under accusations of working with the Free Syrian Army and carrying weapons without obtaining permits from the organization.”

Meanwhile a source close to the organization told ARA News that: “The emir of the health department, Abou Anas al-Araqi, fled the areas under the group’s control after midnight, taking advantage of the state of emergency and high alert imposed by the organization on the areas under its control, especially west of the city of Deir-ez-Zor, after the family of the young men the group slaughtered on the first day of Eid al-Adha attacked the group’s checkpoints and its members.”

The source told ARA News that “the organization has begun to send its representatives to areas of western Deir-ez-Zor to calm the situation after cases of rebellion against its members and its checkpoints because of its implementation of the death sentences against 19 young men from the western Deir-ez-Zor countryside.”

The source said: “Most of the people rejected the mediation and assurances the organization offered and stressed the use of force against the organization if it entered the towns of the western Deir-ez-Zor countryside.”

The organization strengthened its security grip in the city of Deir-ez-Zor and especially west of the city after cases of rebellion carried out by the families of the young men it executed during the first day of Eid al-Adha within its video publication, “The Making of Illusion.”
