Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Abbas Araqchi dismissed as "groundless" accusations that Iran is sending weapons to Syria through Iraqi airspace.
"These allegations were raised by those countries who are deliberately arming and training terrorists against the Syrian people and a government which aims to hinder the international community's efforts to find a political solution to the crisis in Syria," Araqchi said in a press statement on Thursday.
The Iraqi government has conducted inspections of some Iranian planes bound for Syria and “in all cases, it was officially announced that these planes were not carrying any military equipment," he said.
