A military source in the Assad regime's forces has expalined why barrels filled with fuel were dropped on the Al-Rashidiya district in the city of Deir-ez-Zor, parts of which are under siege by Islamic State (ISIS).
The source argued that the event was an error, with Russian Sputnik news agency quoting the anonymous source as saying that this type of airdrop operation “usually sees some errors in countries all over the world,” given the complicated circumstances related to it.
The source said that failed airdrop operation above the city of Deir-ez-Zor could have been because of a simple delay in opening the parachutes, or because the parachutes opened for loading were targeted by ISIS gunfire.
