All health centers in Syria will be able to provide citizens with the Covid vaccine, in an attempt to fight the surge of the virus, SANA reports.

The government team tasked with confronting the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic discussed on Saturday readiness of the health system to deal with the rising number of daily infections, and demanded from public institutions to adhere to procedures related to limiting the spread of the virus and securing face masks for workers and sterilization supplies. The government team, chaired by Prime Minister, Hussein Arnous, approved the plan of the Ministry of Health to increase the number of health centers offering the Covid vaccine by opening all medical centers in Syria and using mobile teams for this purpose.

It is also agreed to assign mobile teams to visit the ministries and public bodies to offer COVID-19 vaccine for workers, calling on employees in hotels and restaurants, as well as teachers and administrative staff of the Ministries of Education and Higher Education and Scientific Research to receive the vaccine.

The total number of the reported coronavirus cases in Syria has reached up to 41,222 till now, of which 25,606 have recovered, while 2,492 passed away.
