Syria and Serbia Discuss Bolstering Parliamentary Relations

On Sunday, Deputy Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Najdat Anzour, discussed with Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia, Maja Gojković, means to enhance parliamentary relations between Syria and Serbia on sidelines of visit of People’s Assembly delegation to Belgrade to participate in meetings of 141st Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), which will be held on Monday.

Gojković reiterated Serbia’s stance in condemning the terrorism to which Syria is exposed. 

She pointed to Serbia’s rejection of the double standards of the situation in Syria practiced by some countries, aimed at achieving their goals and ambitions in the region.

For his part, Anzour said that the Syrian people are going ahead in their war against terrorism and achieving victories, in addition to rejecting all foreign interference outside the framework of the Syrian state’s approval.

He indicated that Syria is subjected to an “Ottoman invasion” which targets its territorial integrity, pointing out the importance of bolstering parliamentary relations between the two countries.
