President Assad, Oman Foreign Minister Discuss Political and Economic Challenges

On Sunday, President Bashar al-Assad and Oman’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf bin Alawai, discussed during a meeting in Damascus the political and economic challenges facing the region and the means to confront these challenges. 

Talks also dealt with regional and international developments, mainly the schemes aiming to cancel the historical rights of the Arabs under the current crises and the critical conditions the region is passing through.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Walid al-Muallem. 

Within the same context, Muallem held a meeting with Alawi and discussed with him ways of enhancing bilateral ties to serve the common interests of the peoples of the two countries.

Also discussed were, developments in the region as well as the means to confront the different challenges facing the peoples of this region. Viewpoints were identical with regards to the continuous coordination and consultation on methods of maintaining regional security and stability.
