Prime Minister Hussein Arnous and the Iranian Ambassador to Syria Mahdi Sabhani discussed during a meeting on Sunday the steps that have been taken to implement the agreements and cooperation projects between Syria and Iran.
The two focused on enhancing cooperation and joint action in the sectors of industry, energy, investment, ports, transport, communications, agriculture, and pharmaceutical industries between Iran and Syria. They also talked about cooperation on common issues, eliminating obstacles impeding the implementation of joint projects, and speeding up efforts to confront the economic blockade imposed on the peoples of the two countries.

Increasing production, securing the different products and basic materials required by the Syrian market, and rehabilitating a number of factories were also on the agenda of the meeting.
The prime minister called for increasing cooperation projects in all domains, noting the government’s willingness to provide all facilitations necessary to accomplish these projects which aim at creating job opportunities and achieving economic development in Syria.
On his part, the Iranian Ambassador affirmed his country’s support for the Syrian people in the face of the unfair sanctions and in the reconstruction process, emphasizing the need to put more effort to boost cooperation that benefits both countries.
