Israeli "terrorist" aggression against Syria will not be met with silence or weakness, Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi said Monday. The attacks on Syrian territory Sunday "have left no room for hesitation, weakness, disunity or silence, as Syria will not forgive us if we hesitate in defending it," Halqi said during a meeting of the ministerial committee. The committee, made up of members of the politburo of the National Movement for Saving Syria, is tasked with implementing a political program to solve the current crisis in Syria. Halqi reviewed the committee's previous session, during which it met with delegates from various strata of Syrian society. He spoke of the role of nascent national parties and movements in enhancing political life and the democratic process in Syria, by engaging with citizens, supporting the reform process, and confronting what he described as a "conspiracy" against the country. Members of the politburo expressed their support for a political program to end the current crisis in the country, through the development of a national agenda. They presented plans to boost national dialogue efforts, while also underlining the importance of pursuing armed terrorist groups operating in the country. The politburo followed the government in denouncing Israeli aggression in Syrian territories, after a series of airstrikes on military facilities early Sunday in Damascus and Damascus countryside.
