President Bashar al-Assad spoke Wednesday with Russian President Vladimir Putin by phone as efforts to implement a Moscow-Washington-brokered ceasefire deal in Syria continue.
During the phone call, President Assad asserted his government’s readiness to contribute to implementing the ceasefire.
Assad and Putin also stressed the importance of continuing the fight against terrorist organizations, like the Islamic State group and Nusra Front.
