Russian Monitor Denies Air Raids on Armed Groups as 8 More Towns Join Truce

The Russian center for monitoring the ceasefire truce denied reports that Syrian government and Russian air forces carried out attacks against armed groups after they announced joining the cessation of hostilities.

In a statement published on Monday, the center at the Hmeimim air base said that eight more towns have signed reconciliation agreements over the past 24 hours, raising the total number to 702 since the truce came into effect in February.

The center added that contact is being made with leaders of other armed groups in Damascus, Homs, Aleppo, and Quneitra with the aim of persuading them to join the agreement, with around 69 groups announcing their intention to join the ceasefire regime.
