At least 54 civilians were killed in 24 hours in the northern city of Raqqa due to bombardment by international coalition and Russian warplanes, shelling by the Syrian Democratic Forces and mines planted by Islamic State (ISIS) militants.

Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently, a local rights monitor, said on its Facebook page that coalition jets launched more than 70 air raids on Raqqa on Wednesday, targeting the city with 800 bombs.

Meanwhile, 14 civilians were killed by ISIS mines while trying to flee the coalition's shelling. The monitor added that 22 people, including 11 children, were also killed by Russian airplanes.
