As a part of the various civilian activities which are led by the center of civil society and democracy in Syria (CCCDS), a four-observer team went to the camp in 16-1-2012 to supervise the elections and the procedures of voting in the five electoral centers where the voters were able to choose their candidates for the positions of governors and their assistants.
Minister of information Omran al-Zoubi said Syria and the Syrian people are fighting terrorist groups linked to al-Qaeda and supported directly by Qatar, the Turkish government and many other countries that have agendas in the region.

This has led to the spread of arms and the escalation of armed conflict. This in turn is contributing to the spread of civil fights that is threatening many areas in the country among which Ras al-Ain.
The Kurdish Yekiti (Unity) Party said in a statement a copy of which was obtained by the Syrian Observer that the “fighting serves only the Turkish agenda but harms the Syrian revolution.”
President Bashar al-Assad gave a speech on Saturday that created a lot of reactions by local and international actors. Below is the text of the speech as translated by the Syrian official news agency (SANA).
An opposition Alawite religious cleric who recently fled to the Turkish town of Antakya revealed that “the Alawite community is living in a state of great fear, after we have become aware that the collapse of the al-Assad regime is imminent, which will place us at the mercy of fierce reprisals from the Sunni majority.”
“The various opposition forces – whether armed or civilian, or linked to foreign powers – cannot claim they are the sole legitimate representatives of the Syrian people,” he added, calling for confidence-building measures between the regime and the rebels.
A leading NCC member says the largest opposition group inside Syria is to oust a controversial leading member and a Kurdish political Party in a meeting in Cairo.
Protesters, accusing the Turkish premier of being an agent of the United States, demanded an end to his meddlesome involvement in Syria.
“The Russian-Chinese veto has foiled this imperialist intervention three times, to uphold the international law regarding the Syrian case.”
