Opposition activists said fighters from the Al-Qaeda-affiliated group have taken control of the village of Umm Sharshouh in the northern countryside of Homs province.
Early today, Nusra’s explosives-laden vehicle exploded, killing several militants loyal to Bashar Assad in the village.
Meanwhile, pro-Assad activists have launched a distress call via social media for regime army to defend villages of Umm Sharshouh, Jabbourin, Tasnin and Kafranan against the offensive.
