Forces in Jarablus Threaten to Confiscate Vehicles With Kurdish Plates

The security forces in Jarablus under the control of the Euphrates Shield threatened to confiscate any vehicle with Kurdish slogans or writing in support of the Syrian Democratic Forces.

The forces in the eastern Aleppo countryside said in a statement: “Any machinery which has the plate [number] with Rojava written on it, or any slogans supporting Kurdish parties, present in liberated areas [Euphrates Shield] will have its owner subjected to legal questioning and the machinery shall be confiscated.”

Meanwhile, a dispute between regime and Kurdish forces has devolved into tit-for-tat arrests with the road between Nubl and Afrin being cut off, after the Kuridsh Self-Administration requested that all cars which enter the area put on plates and numbers of the transport directorate in Afrin, prompting the closure of checkpoints in the towns of Nubl and Zahara for six consecutive days.
