Assad Refers 2019 State General Budget to People’s Assembly

On Wednesday, President Bashar al-Assad referred the bill on the state general budget for the 2019 fiscal year to the People’s Assembly.

The bill, which was discussed by the Cabinet on Oct. 21, 2018, set the budget at 3,882 billion Syrian pounds, an increase of 695 billion pounds compared to the 2018 budget.

The budget is distributed as follows: 2,782 billion pounds for running expenditures and 1,110 billion pounds for investment expenditures, with 811 billion pounds being allocated for social support.
