Jordanian Delegation Discuss Bolstering Economic Relations

Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Minister Abdullah al-Gharbi discussed with a Jordanian economic delegation means to activate economic cooperation and trade between the two countries.

Talks during the meeting also dealt with the opening the Nasib Border Crossing and the importance of this step in the facilitating of the movement and exchanging of foodstuffs and industrial products.

The two sides agreed that an official Jordanian economic delegation should visit Syria to discuss ways to activate bilateral economic relations.

Minister al-Gharbi affirmed Syria’s keenness to activate economic cooperation and trade with various friendly countries.

He noted the need to cooperate with the Jordanians in the field of granting protections for commercial and industrial property for Jordanian companies.

The minister said that 1600 foreign companies want to register their trademarks in Syria.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, the Vice President of Jordan’s Commerce Chamber Ghassan Khirfan said that the delegation includes more than 95 businessmen.
