The Minister of Electricity has said that electric power will be restored fully in the southern region by Tuesday morning at the latest.
Power was cut off in the southern region after an attack by armed terrorist groups on the high tension power lines on Sunday night.
In a press conference on Monday, Minister Khamis said that the terrorist attack targeted a power line which stabilizes the electric grid and the generators and transformers that feed the southern region, adding that the attack also caused malfunctions in generators and transformers and some high tension power lines, which caused a total blackout in the southern region.
