Haytham Mannaa, the Head of the National Coordination Commission in Exile said that there is no military solution to the Syrian crisis and that the Syrian regime is trying to clone the Algerian solution.
Mannaa said Syria has two options: either the Somali option or a political solution.
Therefore, he added, “we shoulder the the responsibility to the regime, which is trying to clone the Algerian solution, but will not succeed,” and the opposition is “not going to reach a military solution.”
Mannaa said the “regime has not up to date proceeded towards serious negotiations. Instead it campaigns for public relations; it says ‘yes’ to all what is proposed to it, but at the time comes to fulfill that, there is no practical solution to it.”
Manaa called upon the regime’s friends, namely Russia, China, and Iran to exert “serious pressure” in order to get into serious negotiations in order to rescue those whose hands are not spotted with the Syrians’ blood.
