Patriarch of Antioch and All the East for the Rome Orthodox Church, Yohanna (John) Yazigi called on Tuesday for a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria through dialogue and understanding.
"We hope to find a solution to the crisis in Syria through national dialogue, not through violence or any other language that contracts with peace and amity," Yazigi said in a statement at Beirut Airport as he returned from Turkey, where he was involved in discussions for the release the two abducted bishops of Aleppo, Yohanna Ibrahim and Paul Yazigi.
"We are in continuous contact with all sides concerned with the release of the two bishops. We discussed with Turkish officials the situation in Syria and the need to find prevailing peace," he said.
