At the weekly Cabinet meeting on Tuesday, Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi instructed all ministries and authorities to maintain high standards to continue providing the best services to citizens, especially in health and electricity, during the Eid al-Fitr holiday.
Halqi also stressed the need to keep a close eye on markets during the holiday and called for direct communication with citizens on available resources.
He instructed ministries to direct surplus staff to the Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Ministry to work provisionally over the holiday, also urging ministries to expedite the opening of retail outlets in their establishments after the break.
Halqi reviewed the results of his successful visit to Tehran, during which the two countries discussed boosting cooperation. He noted that the new Iranian leadership is keen to develop economic, commercial and industrial cooperation.
