UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-Moon, described UN Security Council's resolution on Syria as an "actual move and a first sign that raises optimism" for solving the crisis in Syria.
In an interview with Russian Novye Izvestia newspaper published on Monday, Ban Ki-Moon said that the UN and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) are working together to ensure safety and eradicate the chemical stockpile in Syria along with the relevant programs.
"This issue constitutes a success in terms of guaranteeing international security and peace and [is] a strong motive for ending the current crisis in this country," he added.
