Arab Party Conference Calls for Establishment of New Arab League

Meeting calls for a "popular Arab League"

The General Secretariat of the Arab Parties Conference has reiterated support for Syria in the face of what he called a “universal war which is led by the U.S. and its allies in the region through armed terrorist groups in Syria.”

In a final statement issued after the emergency session of the group, held on 18-19 November in Damascus, the Secretariat said that Syria represents resistance as it hosts all national and nationalist forces. It expressed confidence that Syria will win over its enemies to remain stronger and emerge more immune to conspiracy to continue its pioneering role in the region."

It denounced the decisions of the Arab League against Syria, describing them as "dangerous precedents that reveal the suspicious role of the Arab countries which control the League."

It called for the establishment of a “Popular Arab League” that shoulders its responsibilities in uniting the Arabs after the Arab League swayed from its aims and became a tool in the hands of colonial powers.
