Iraqi Factions Occupy Farmlands on Airport Road

Owners say they believe the properties are occupied only until army operations are completed

Syrian opposition sources have confirmed that Iraqi factions fighting alongside Bashar Assad for the last month have occupied private farmlands located on the road to Damascus International Airport.

The source confirmed that these factions have turned these farms to military barracks and warehouses for weapons to be used in the fight against the armed opposition.

Speaking to the owners of the properties, the source said that they reported they considered the occupation of their properties temporary until these forces completed operations to secure the areas surrounding the airport.
