WFP Sends 39 Tons of Food to Qamishli

The aid was sent via Erbil in Iraq

An airplane carrying humanitarian aid and food supplies coming from the Iraqi Erbil Airport arrived Thursday in Qamishli Airport in Hasaka province.

The aid was provided by the U.N. World Food Program (WFP) to the families in need and those who came to Hasaka from other provinces fleeing the terrorist acts of the armed groups.

Director of the WFP office in Qamishli Afraa Nouh said the airplane carried onboard 39 tons of various types of food supplies, noting that aid shipments offered by the WFP will continue to be delivered until 27 February so as to distribute about 12,000 shares to the affected families.

Thirteen airplanes carrying aid offered by the WFP have so far reached in Qamishli Airport.
