The Military Council in Aleppo reached an agreement with the Kurdish People Protection Units (YPG) in Afrin on Tuesday aiming to unite in the fight against the Islamic State in the northern countryside of Aleppo.

According to Hawar News Agency, the agreement was reached after a meeting between the leader of the Military Council in Aleppo, Colonel Abduljabbar al-Oqaidi, accompanied by several leaders of the Free Syrian Army factions, and the head of Defense Commission in Afrin, Abdo Ibrahim, along with several leaders of YPG.

The agreement says that the Free Syrian Army and People Protection Units will cooperate to fight IS and stop its advance in the northern regions of Aleppo, especially after IS took control over regions in the surrounding of Azaz in the north east of Aleppo.
