President Bashar al-Assad on Sunday issued law No. 23 for 2014 on exempting construction, municipality regulations, debts, investment taxes from interests and fines for overdue payments dating back to any of the years 2013 and before, if the payments are settled before December 31, 2014.
In a statement to SANA, Deputy Prime Minister for Service Affairs and Minister of Local Administration Omar Ibrahim Ghalawanji said that law No. 23 comes in view of the current circumstances and its repercussions on the economic situation of the citizens, investors, industrialists and tradesmen which made them unable to pay their fees.
