Shrine Destroyed by Militants After Court Ruling

Armed groups and Sharia court of Aleppo destroy the tomb of Sheikh Mohammed an-Nabhan

The Sharia court, backed by military factions, destroyed the shrine of Sheikh Mohammad an-Nabhan in al-Kaltawiyah mosque, old Aleppo. The operation took place after imposing a curfew in the area, storming the mosque and school with dozens of fighters, according to Aleppo Today channel.

Ansar ad-Din Front broadcast a video report of what they described as "the destruction of polytheist monuments, where people used to worship a human being, instead of Allah".

The report explained that participants in the operation included Ansar ad-Din Front, the Nusra Front, Ahrar ash-Sham Movement and the Sharia Court in Aleppo, in addition to the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.

Ansar ad-Din claimed in its report that these authorities decided to relocate graves from Aleppo mosques to Muslim cemeteries.
