Regime Barrel Bombs Kill 15 People in Rebel-Held Aleppo

Bombing targeted Ibad al-Rhaman mosque in the al-Bab neighborhood, killing six children

Regime airstrikes in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo killed at least 15 people, including six children, on Wednesday as helicopter gunships pounded a rebel-held neighborhood, activists said.

A Zaman al-Wasl local reporter said the bombing targeted the Ibad al-Rahman mosque in the district of al-Bab minutes before the Maghrib prayer following sunset for the 21st day of Ramadan.

Regime barrel bomb attacks also targeted neighborhoods of Sheikh Kheder and al-Hulk in the rebel-held city.

Aleppo city is divided between the Syrian military – backed by pro-regime militia – and a range of insurgent groups including the Nusra Front, Islamist brigades and Western-backed rebels.
