Army Captures Strategic Hill in Deir-ez-Zor

Army units seize control over Shuai'b Hill in fight against ISIS in Deir-ez-Zor and battle Al-Nusra Front militants in Daraa, pro-government newspaper reports

Syrian army and allied forces seized control over a strategic hill in Deir-ez-Zor province, in their operation to drive ISIS out of al-Maqaber area in the southern parts of the city.

An army unit captured Shua’ib Hill on Wednesday evening after fierce battles with terrorists, which left dozens of them either killed or wounded.‫

Establishing control over Shua’ib hill is an important step in breaking the siege imposed by ISIS for 40 days on the airport and the neighborhoods located in the eastern side of Deir-ez-Zor city where some 1,300 families live.‫

The Syrian Air Force carried out incessant strikes on ISIS centers last night in al-Tharda valley, destroying a tank and a number of dens and killing and wounding a large number of terrorists, a reporter said.

In Daraa, an army unit foiled a booby-trapped car attack by Al-Nusra terrorists on a military post in al-Menshiyeh neighborhood in the southern province of Daraa.

Another army unit destroyed several vehicles loaded with ammunition destinedfor Al-Nusra Front in the area surrounding Busra al-Sham hotel in the city of Busra, east of Daraa city.
