Syrian Airstrikes Hit Children’s Hospital in Idleb Killing at Least 10

At least 10 civilians, including four women and children, were killed and dozens more wounded in Syrian airstrikes on a hospital in the northern province of Idleb, Civil Defense said Sunday.

The heavy aerial bombardment targeted the Al-Nour Children’s Hospital in the town of Taftanaz.

Two more civilians were killed when airstrikes pounded the town of Ariha, according to local reporter.

On Thursday, 38 people, including five children, were killed in Russian airstrikes on the town of Zardana in Idleb.

Idleb has been a haven for tens of thousands of rebels and 2.3 million civilians who were forced to abandon their homes in other parts of western Syria that the regime and its foreign military allies have recaptured from rebels.

Syria has been locked in a devastating war since March 2011, when the Bashar al-Assad regime cracked down on pro-democracy protests with unexpected ferocity. UN and local monitoring groups says more than 400,000 people have been killed and millions have been displaced.
