Victim of Afrin ‘Death Parade’ Urges Forgiveness in Will

Abou Salmou, whose body was exhibited along with dozens of fellow opposition fighters in the parade of corpses in Afrin on Thursday, had left a decent will before he was killed by militants from the Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) in Aleppo province.

Having left his will with a good friend, Abou Salmou declared: “I forgive Muslims whom [have] done me wrong and I ask God to forgive me and I ask you to forgive me and forgive my comrades and brothers.”

Local sources said the PYD group had repelled a Free Syrian Army advance and transported by truck about 50 dead bodies to the town of Afrin around 20 km from the Turkish border.

On Thursday, videos emerged on social media showing PYD members transporting bodies of FSA fighters in an open top trailer after they had been killed in clashes in northern Syria.

A friend of Abou Salmou told Zaman al-Wasl that he joined the latest battle against the PYD to halt the militia from advancing in Aleppo, and that he was one of many young men who had taken up rms to fights alongside the rebel factions Ahrar al-Sham, Faylaq al-Sham and Jaish al-Sunnah.

The FSA-linked Jaish al-Sunnah have since published the names of those who were killed, missing or injured by the Kurdish forces last week.
