Assad’s forces have continued their heavy bombardment of widespread areas in Idleb province. On Monday, airstrikes killed 18 civilians, including women and children, as the Syrian Civil Defense said that the number of dead from the attacks by Russia and the regime had reached more than 223 over just the last 33 days.

The rescue teams known as the White Helmets said that Assad’s forces had carried out a, “horrifying massacre in the city of Ariha that killed 11 people, including six children and four women, and wounded 20 people, most of them women and children during an airstrike in which a warplane dropped its entire load, destroying three residential buildings and damaging others.”

The same source said: “six civilians were killed, including two women and a child, with two others wounded in the town of Hazarin, which was shelled with six long-range and high-explosive rockets as well as two airstrikes by warplanes, which caused heavy damage to homes and property.” It added that, “a man was killed (in Hazarin) and five others were wounded, including a woman, during a bombardment carried out by seven helicopters dropping 14 barrel bombs onto the town.”

The Civil Defense said that one of its volunteers was wounded in the town of Kafr Nubl during two airstrikes that hit civilian homes in the town and that, “a child and a man were killed in the town of Sfuhen, which was hit by two airstrikes. A fire broke out in Kansafra, causing major damage to homes in the town, which was hit by an airstrike and three cluster rockets, which hit a mosque and civilian homes.”

On Monday, bombardments affected many areas in Idleb, with strikes hitting Khan Sheikhoun and its environs, and Kafr Sujana and the environs of Maarat Masrin and the villages of Abadin, al-Mardim and the outskirts of Ahsam and Kafr Aweid and others.

Additionally, helicopters from Assad’s forces intensified barrel bomb attacks in southern Idleb, dropping dozens of barrel bombs on al-Hubait, Abadin, al-Qasabiyeh, Maghar al-Hamam, Kafr Sujana, Tarmaleh, Maarat Hurmeh and al-Naqeer and others.

The Syrian Civil Defense said in its latest statistics that the number of dead from Russia and regime attacks had reached more than 223 since Apr. 25, 2019.
