Jaafari: UNHRC Report Biased

Jaafari claims some states aggravating the humanitarian situation for their own ends
Jaafari: UNHRC Report Biased

Syria's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Bashar al-Jaafari, said that the decisions concerning Syria on the report by the U.N. Human Rights Council were based on unilateral media information consistent with the political agendas of certain countries that do not wish the best for the welfare for the Syrian state and people.

Addressing the U.N. General Assembly, Jaafari pointed out that the decisions did not demand an end of the terrorism practiced by the armed terrorist groups nor did they call for disarming them.

He said the UNHRC report ignored the economic and humanitarian situation in Syria which was affected by the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the European Union members, the U.S. and the Arab League on the Syrian people.

Jaafari said that the Syrian government has offered all forms of cooperation to reach a solution to the crisis in Syria, while some countries have sought to aggravate the political and humanitarian situation.

He considered the U.N. Human Rights Council's decisions as hampering the objective role played by some international sides to put an end to the crisis in Syria.
