The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Washington’s attempts to sabotage the Damascus International Fair contradict the international community’s resolutions on Syria.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry said that the United States’ blatant attempts to undermine the reconstruction efforts of the Syrian leadership are harmful to Syria’s unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and they contradict the text and spirit of the international community’s resolutions on Syria, including Security Council resolution no. 2254.
The statement said that since Aug. 22, 2019, the website of the US Embassy in Syria has been repeating calls for businesses to not attend the Damascus International Fair, threatening sanctions by the US Department of the Treasury.
