Syria's Health Minister, Saad al-Nayef, urged the World Health Organization (WHO) to assist in lifting economic sanctions against Syria and provide the maximum financial resources to meet the country's health needs of the ill and the injured.
Al-Nayef, who headed the Syrian delegation to the World Health Assembly meeting in Geneva on Wednesday, said in a speech that it is important that the WHO helps in providing medicine for patients with chronic diseases and cancer, and in rehabilitating affected health institutions.
