Two children, aged three and seven died as a result of severe malnutrition in Mouadamiya city of Damascus countryside, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.
The British-based organization said the deaths were caused by the severe lack of food, as well as the fact that doctors treating them did not receive required medicine in time.
The rebel-held areas of Mouadamiya are under an intense siege by the regime forces.
The Observatory urgently called on the Syrian Red Crescent and the Red Cross, as well as all aid and relief organizations working in Syria, to immediately work on negotiations to break the siege and supply the tens of thousands of civilians in the besieged parts of Mouadamiya with vital food and medical equipment.
