Delegation to Meet Geneva Sponsors Friday

A group of non-partisan Syrians will meet the U.N. Syria envoy Lakhdar Brahimi, as well as U.S. and Russian officials ahead of the Geneva II conference

A delegation representing a broad spectrum of non-partisan Syrians will meet the U.N. Syria envoy Lakhdar Brahimi, as well as U.S. and Russian officials on 20 December, ahead of the Geneva II conference.

 

The delegations includes those who believe in “the unity of Syria and the equal citizenship of all Syrians, as well as and the importance of an immediate ceasefire and independence of Syrian decision-making from any foreign power,” according to a statement.

 

The delegation consists of figures from the Syrian National Coalition, the Syrian National Council and the Coordination Commissions. It also includes members of the Kurdish National Council, including Ahmad Suleiman, a member of the Syrian Womens’ Movement, Roula-Rukbi, Colonels Zaid Tlass and Abdul Jabbar al-Oqaidi, a member of the Call Movement, Zaidounaz Zoubi, and members of the Democratic Platform, Samir Aita, and Aref Dalila, as well as a member from the Citizenship Center, Faeq Khwaja.
