ISIS Destroys Hassakeh Church at Easter

Militant group detonates explosives inside 80-year-old church on Easter weekend

ISIS terrorists blew up the Church of the Virgin Mary in Hassakeh’s western countryside on Easter Sunday.

Local sources revealed to SANA that ISIS terrorists planted explosives inside the church before detonating it.

The Church of the Virgin Mary was built in 1934 and is considered one of three main churches in Tal Nasri, located to the south of the ISIS-controlled town of Tal Tamr.

The militant Islamist group fighters have destroyed a large number of Muslim and Christian worship places, religious sites and shrines in areas under their control.
