Gen. Ayoub Visits Military Units in Zabadani

Top army commander inspects Syrian and allied Lebanese forces stationed in the countryside of Damascus

Army Chief of Staff Lt. General Ali Abdullah Ayoub visited Syrian army units in Zabadani, Damascus countryside, on Wednesday.

The Syrian army, aided by the Lebanese Hezbollah and popular defense groups, have recently made significant gains against opposition fighters in Zabadani.

General Ayoub, who was visiting Zabadani accompanied by officers from the General Command, inspected the combat operations in the city. Field commanders briefed the general on the nature of military operations and the strategic importance of the area.

Ayoub lauded the high morale of the Syrian army personnel and Lebanese Hezbollah fighters, praising their sacrifices and heroic acts to combat terrorists.

The general affirmed the Syrian Army’s determination to continue its fight against terrorism, and restore stability and security to the country. Army members, for their part, vowed to continue their duty, expressing their confidence in an imminent victory over terrorism.
