Deir-ez-Zor: Regime Urges Residents to Flee ISIS-Held Areas

Authorities call on locals residing in Islamic State areas of the eastern city to leave before Wednesday

Syrian regime forces have called on residents of Islamic State-held areas in Deir-ez-Zor city to flee to government districts before Wednesday, May 25.

Activists voiced concerns about the demand, saying that ISIS militants will likely kill anyone trying to flee its stronghold.

People residing in both ISIS and regime-controlled areas are facing deteriorating living conditions amid a severe siege imposed by both warring parties and shortages of medicine and food.
