Director of Tabqa Dam Injured by ISIS Landmine

Najem al-Buniyeh wounded while inspecting water distribution area, government outlet reports

Director of the General Establishment of the Tabqa Dam Najem al-Buniyeh was injured when a landmine left by Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists detonated in the western countryside of Raqqa.

The director told SANA's reporter on Thursday that a mine exploded while he was inspecting the distribution area of the Tabqa Dam, injuring him and a worker. He said that necessary medical aid was provided to both of them.

Buniyeh stressed that demining operations are continuing at the dam.
