Forces loyal to Syrian president kill 23 people fleeing war in Homs

Syria's National Defense Force paramilitaries killed 23 displaced people in northern countryside of Hama on Tuesday, local activists said.

‫ The victims, who were fleeing the neighboring province of Homs in the direction of Idleb, were killed by pro-regime shabeeha in Om al-Khazir village.

‫ A least five people, including a child, were also killed on Tuesday by an explosive cylinder fired by the regime on al-Ghanto village in northern countryside of Homs, the Syrian Network for Human Rights reported.

Meanwhile, more than 50 people have been killed by regime airstrikes in the suburbs of Eastern Ghouta near Damascus, activists and monitoring groups said on Wednesday.

Activists said regime warplanes carried out five raids on Douma, Saqba and Hamouriya east of Damascus, leaving dozens killed and wounded.
