The General Monitoring Authority in Turkey said that between 2011 and 2017, 276,158 children had been born to Syrian refugees living in Turkey.

This came in a report issued by the agency on Monday under the title “Syrians in Turkey.”

The report noted that the first batch of Syrian refugees entered Turkey on April 29, 2011.

The report added that refugees had received medical services in the regions and cities where they live and had been sent to other provinces if the necessary services were not available at their current location.

Temporary health centers in the refugee camps work under the supervision of the Turkish Health Ministry and medical staff are screened by the ministry.

According to statistics from August 2017, the number of health sector workers in the temporary health centers in the refugee camps was about 498, which included doctors and nurses.

The report added that 1,112,058 Syrian refugees had undergone surgery in Turkish hospitals since the arrival of refugees in Turkey until December 11 of last year. Medical staff have meanwhile seen 31,449,800 patients.
