Assad Appoints New Governors in Deir-ez-Zor, Quneitra

New decree sees Abdul al-Kawakibi and Humam Debyyat named to take governorships, official media reports

President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday issued a decree naming Abdul Majeed al-Kawakibi as governor of the province of Deir-ez-Zor, ending the appointment of Mohammad Ibrahim Samra.

Assad also issued a decree naming Humam Sadeq Debyyat as governor of Quneitra, ending the appointment of Ahmad Sheikh Abdul-Qader.
