The Kurdish People’s Protection Units (PYD) militia, the Syrian arm of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militia, said that three foreigners had died fighting alongside the group.

The Dutch national Sjoerd Heeger, 25, had been killed in fighting in Deir-ez-Zor province on Feb. 12. Janderees is in the Afrin area near the Turkish border and fighting is currently ongoing there in an attempt by Turkish forces and the Free Syrian Army to advance.

The statement noted that the fighters joined Kurdish ranks in the summer of 2017.
